taly is undoubtedly one of the top countries when it comicammes to fashion, and every year there are plenty of events where well known and emerging stylists introduce their brand new collections.
One of the main footwear fairs in Italy is MICAM – The International Footwear Exposition, which takes place in Milan, the Italian fashion capital.

The International Footwear Exposition

The first edition took place in 2010, and it was immediately promoted by the Chamber of Commerce of Milan and Promos. It is a huge event, taking place twice a year in February or March and September, where 1600 exhibitors (1000 Italian and 600 foreign, coming from about 30 countries) have the chance to present their autumn-winter and spring-summer new collections.
MICAM is held at Fieramilano of Rho, a municipality of the Metropolitan City of Milan and it occupies an area of about 750.000 sqft. In its last edition, during September 2016, MICAM counted more than 35000 visitors coming from Italy and all over the world, which is the current record for this event, growing more and more every year

TO SUPPORT THE ITALIAN MANUFACTURING 

This year, MICAM Exposition will take place from 10 to 12 February and from 17 to 20 September, and they are expected even more visitors than last year.
This event is a great opportunity to promote the best Italian brands, since the country is already very well-known all over the world for its unique class and quality when it come to fashion.

Not only Made in Italy is enhanced during these days, since 600 foreign exhibitors have the chance to present their products to the numerous visitors, all eager to discover the new trends of the upcoming seasons.

MICAM is divided into different sections:
– Luxury, with products for special occasions
– Contemporary, with modern and original products
– Emerging Designers, an area for the new talents
– International Designers
– Active, for sport shoes
– Cosmopolitan, which includes comfortable footwear
– Kids, shoes for children

MICAM AT SHANGAI

For visitors, MICAM is usually open every day from 9.30 to 19, and the last day from 9.30 to 16. There is also a selection of trains and hotels with special prices for those who have an accreditation for the event.
For the past two years, the Exhibition has also been held in Shanghai, and it is the first  international fair in China managed by Italians.
